At the architectural center of every authentic Turkish bath in Istanbul stands the Göbek Taşı. It is a raised marble platform positioned directly beneath the main domed ceiling.
The stone is heated from underneath by radiant flue channels. Lying on this warm marble surface for 15-20 minutes gently warms muscle tissues, opens skin pores, and accelerates perspiration prior to the body scrub.
It maintains a comforting temperature between 42°C and 48°C, optimal for relaxation.
Attendants perform both the invigorating kese body scrub and the full-body cloud foam massage on this heated platform.
